Highlights
Sunday 1 June - Trevor Carlisle Quartet 2 - 5pm free
Laid back jazz on a Sunday afternoon. Chester's largest beer garden
Sunday 1 June - Eleanor McEvoy
£10.00
As a songwriter Eleanor has had her songs covered by artists as diverse as Emmylou Harris, Phil Coulter and Mary Black. Caroline Lavelle's version of the McEvoy/Lavelle composition "All I Have" features in the latest episodes of the cult USA television series "Six Feet Under".
"Once Eleanor McEvoy launched into her fiery set, accompanied by nothing more than her guitar, fiddle and glass-shattering vocal cords, we knew we were in for a fearsome night of music. McEvoy has hit more than her share of high notes with her last two CDs Early Hours and Yola, and it showed: quietly confident and enviably self-possessed, she lured reluctant stragglers tentwards as she cherry-picked from a catalogue that spans Chuck Berry (Memphis Tennessee), Eleanor McEvoy (Easy In Love, Driving Home From Butlers) and, er, Eleanor McEvoy (A Womans Heart etc.). A lone performer plying a singular trade with considerable elan." Irish Times

22 June - Toscha Comeaux £8.00 (£6 advance)
Charismatic soul-jazz diva tours the UK.
Toscha Comeaux's main musical grounding - like so many American singers - was in the Church. After obtaining a degree in choral performance and performing with the Connecticut Opera and Orlando Philharmonic, she seemed destined to follow the classical route, but her main love has always been mainstream jazz and soul, which forms the essence of her performance...She has shared the stage with such greats as Lou Rawls, the late Ray Charles and Diana Ross but now she is making a mark in her own right with the release of her debut album 'This Could Be Love', a collection of knockout brand new jazz, gospel-blues & soul songs from a knockout artist. - Out Now on Zenith Records
As an artist and performer you've either got that indefinable special something or you haven't. Toscha Comeaux is one artist who has.

Wednesday 25 June - Rhythm Zoo. £5
Rhythm Zoo are a new band with traditional R & B roots. With a certain feverish excitement when they play they knock out classic blues with a modern soul slant.
The band is the brain child of guitarist Steve Alden whose friendship with sturdy back beat bass player Roy Reid and collaboration with the Joplinesque Andi Harrison vocals, create the foundation of an interesting mix of musical styles. Drummer Dermot Hall adds a solidity and guts to anchor the band as a unit, while the silky sultry tones of sax player Dave Roberts put the icing on the top.
You need to catch this act live, there is an expectation that builds from the moment they enter the stage.
The Rhythm Zoo - don't forget...you'll get captured!!
